Hospice Care

Help your precious pet in their golden years.

Watching your formally youthful and energetic pet slow down

as they approach the end of their life is never easy.
Unfortunately, it’s a sad reality that every pet parent must face. As a beloved member of your family, your companion deserves to be comfortable, pain-free, and at peace in their final days and hours. Hospice care makes this happen. We provide compassionate hospice care in Cincinnati and the surrounding areas and are here to alleviate suffering and ensure your pet is comfortable until their last breath.

Choosing Hospice Care

Like human hospice, pet hospice care is not intended to treat or cure a problem. Instead, it is intended to keep pets with terminal illnesses or injuries comfortable in the time leading up to the end of their life. Choosing hospice care for your companion means ensuring that they will not suffer or experience fear/anxiety in their final days.

Determining when the time is right for hospice care isn’t easy. Generally speaking, you should seek this service when your pet’s quality of life declines substantially. A few specific symptoms to watch for that could indicate the time is right for your pet include:
  • Loss of appetite and/or thirst
  • No longer enjoying once-loved activities
  • Loss of interest in self-grooming
  • Difficulty sitting, standing, jumping, climbing stairs, etc. independently
  • Irritability, restlessness, or confusion
  • Excessive panting/gasping
If you have any reason to think your pet may be in pain or seriously illl, please reach out to us. We are here to help you determine whether hospice care is the right choice.
